Re: war profiteering, doesn't work as the origin of Howard's wealth since he's already a famous rich inventor when Steve first sees him at the Stark exposition in 1941 at the start of the first Captain America movie. Unless, of course, Howard did his profiteering in Europe before the US entered WWII, which is possible. (Otoh Jarvis saying specifically he's worked for Howard five years, and assuming he started to work for Howard immediately after Howard got Anna out of Hungary and Jarvis out of trouble because of the treason charge brings us back only to 1941 again, since the series is set in 1946.)
