Thanks for the report. BTW, mention of 1848 reminded me of this picture, which I saw (a reproduction, obviously) at the entrance to a supermarket in Schwetzingen the other week - it's actually 1832 rather than 1848, and labelled "Zug auf das Hambacher Schloss"; there was a longer caption describing the beginnings of the democratic movement in Schwetzingen . I wasn't clear whether this was something the supermarket had put up as part of the current 1250th anniversary celebrations or whether they'd had it for some time. What intrigued me was the use of what I perceived as the modern German flag; my sister said that it originated with the democratic movements in this period though it didn't become the official flag until the 20th century. So it's the flag of the Paulskirche parliament?
