No kidding. To be fair, the entire universe bends around "Dougie" (true identity spoilery) at this point, with no one seeming to notice or mind he's essentially acting like a severely brain damaged person, they all treat him normally and help him go through the day. But while that comes across as kindness in, say, his boss from work, his wife (who has known him as a normal sentient being, who yes, cheated on her, but also could interact) being so ecstatic about this new state to me felt like a reverse Stepford Wives scenario - like all she ever wanted was a doll with sexual functions. And I don't think that was the impression I was supposed to get.
