It's fiendishly difficult for a German writer to get translated into English. Seriously, Korean and Chinese translations are easier to get. Because half the former British Empire already writes in English, so Publishers buying the licenses there don't have to translate them, and hardly anyone speaks German anymore in the British and US publishing industry, so they have to rely on brief English summaries for the novels to get interested in.
