Yes, that makes sense! Though when the MCU tries to have multiple sympathetic views of the one problem, they also do that badly (see: Civil War). They had Monica being very understanding of Wanda (with having just lost her mother), and Darcy was fairly neutral but enjoying the TV, so they could have had Jimmy focused on rescuing his witness and the rest of the townspeople.
