Later on in S4 it's revealed that Valen had children and therefore over the centuries since a lot of Minbari have part-human ancestry. Which acts as a further backing for the mundane-SF reading that the Triluminary just detects human DNA and the idea of soul transfer is just Minbari mysticism.
