Playa appears just often enough on the show to make her a canon character, but with ample room for characterisation since there is only one episode where she has a bit more lines than a question or two. I certainly hadn't thought my first BSG fanfic would feature her, but once the idea hit me after I accepted the challenge, it became irresistable.
