True, but marriage/partnership is something other than having a lover. One of the very few things mentioned about Silver's wife in Treasure Island - other than she is a black woman - is that she has full access to all their possessions (i.e. the inn and the account at the bank which so impressed the Squire when he hired Silver for the Espianola). Which implies a certain amount of trust at the very least. :)

This said, I don't think Madi would trust him the same way again, either, BUT the last thing we see is that she does stand near him, so some kind of reconciliation is in the future, and also, we don't know what will happen to her people. She might use the inn in Bristol to get some of them out of the country? But like I said, I'm open to all options now. :)
