Lately I’ve been reading the Brian Sibley edited collection of Tolkien’s writings about the Second Age, including the forging of the Rings of Power and the story of Numenor. I’m happy with the TV version doing things differently, but wanted to see the original writings before going into season 2. I never got on well with The Silmarillion. This repackaged collection is much more approachable. Even available in large print format paperback for me to read slowly! We will probably be starting watching season 2 this weekend coming.
