Ah, to each their own. I'm exactly the opposite way - I hate it when characters get killed off instead of being recast if the original actor for some real life reason is no longer available. (Except in the case of a tragic actor death, like Chadwick Boseman.) Espcecially when I'm invested in them. If I'm not, I'm cool with them getting written out of the story (but preferably not killed off), as long as it's in character, especially if it happens in a way that allows the actor to return at some later point.
