I went to an exhibit on Nero at the British Museum which started out by pointing out that Agrippina's famous last words are in fact a quote from a then-contemporary Oedipus. I am now wondering if Emma Sotham was involved in the exhibit, given the biography's handling of sources. (A continuing theme in the exhibit was that Nero was opposed to the Senate, and all of his biographies were written by Senators, with a vested interest in ignoring the beneficial things he did, and reinterpreting every action.)
