Goodbye London
Aug. 3rd, 2008 09:52 amYesterday and today was and is being useful time (tm), so while it kept me busy none stop, there is nothing to report; however, I can't leave England without giving you some glimpses of London that didn't fit in earlier posts. Having visited London quite a lot, I still find myself thinking the walk between Waterloo Station and London Bridge on the bank of the Thames is one of the most beautiful around, which is why I do it each time. Usually in combination with theatre visits, as both the National and the Globe are there. Back on Wednesday evening, it was the Globe with a production of Timon of Athens, which was gorgeously staged - very powerful imagery of humans as vultures and an aviary - but that's a late Shakespeare which is deservedly obscure, packed with stuff he did better in other plays, so I didn't write a review. But it did lead to another Thames stroll, admiring London, so here are some last pictures before I'm going back to Darth Real Life (and Germany):
