I really like this. Poor Nathan. You can see quite clearly how this boy would become the man we see in canon.
I love the little hints and allegations, Linderman setting him up with Meredith, Nathan's relationship with Peter even then, the controlling mother and difficult father. And Meredith's path, too, makes a lot of sense - in a way, that's the real tragedy of this, isn't it? That despite the fact that they do genuinely care for one another, this ending is almost inevitable. And the effect the whole affair has on Nathan, too, is clearly an important force shaping him.
