Very interesting read! I ... don't have much to comment, since it has been ages since I watched Casanova, and I found it mostly fun, but all in all a bit slight. I definitely bought Casanova as a likable character, though. I like DT here, but think he's a lot better in Blackpool (not having seen Recovery and not counting his Harry Potter, that's basically my only reference).

As for other DW actors, the one role I would always recommend for Christopher Eccleston is Jude, because he is just amazing here. Granted, that works only if you can stomach Thomas Hardy as interpreted by Michael Winterbottom (believe it or not, it's slightly less bleak). But it has Kate Winslet and Rachel Griffith!
