*g* So, watching The Pasdar playing an evil morally ambiguous sociopath is okay, and same for Anthony "Giles" Head as a student-eating alien headmaster, but not this?

Seriously now, I know what you mean, though in my case it's for another reason - I don't like stalker storylines, it creeps me out on a personal level, and hence I avoid films of that description.

Talking about actors playing scum of the 'verse and likeable endearing characters and whether one can make the transfer as a watcher - I think the most radical example for me was Ralph Fiennes whom I first saw as Amon Goeth in Schindler's List where he is absolutely chilling (and not in an operetta Nazi kind of way, or in a demonic ubervillain kind of way - it's really "the banality of evil" and a horrible psychopath personified), and none too many years later saw in The English Patient, where it's absolutely crucial you sympathize with his character.
