Hail the, fellow lover of the Beethoven symphonies: :-)). Beethoven's 6th was the first piece of classical music I have fallen in love with. (at the age of 17 or so)
And the Allegretto of the 7th symphony is among the most beautiful and intense pieces of music I know. (how much sadness, how much beauty. The Inevitability and the joy of live)
And I have a wonderful recording by Furthwängler, who is imho the greatest interpreter of Beethoven.
Anyway, I am listening to it right now. And guess what: In the same cd case there was also my long lost U2 Cd "All that you can't leave behind". I wonder how it got there. So your entry made me rediscover it ;-): Thanks ;-)
beethoven, U2 and an undeserved thank you ;-)
