One thing I did notice, this being me post-Jossverse: interestingly, if you compare this to the Zefirelli Romeo and Juliet which can't have been shot that many years apart, it's noticable that there is zilch subtext. Whereas Zefirelli milks Mercutio/Romeo for what its worth.
