It's miserable how mean-spirited that obit was, when, post-Beatles, in the 80s, people were seeing George as someone who'd really done good stuff with films (not just ones with Palin in directly, though he'd obviously been important, but with Handmade Films generally).

Incidentally, the former headmistress of Patti Harrison (Abbey School Reading I think, but don't quote me) did once comment, "It's so nice to hear about what any of our old girls are up to. But Patti is always so very interesting!"

In a bit of Beatles memorabilia which I may have mentioned earlier, the barmaid at our local and part-time lollipop lady, Fran (a frail-to-the-point-of-emaciation seventy something year old, now sadly dead) drove them back to Liverpool more than once when they'd not made the train back and they'd played Manchester gigs; she worked for the gigs. No idea how that slots into everything - pre-Hamburg?
