This book was great and your review really captures what worked about it. Though unfortunately, shortly after reading it I mistakenly ventured onto a message board where people were upset by how "unlikeable" Cromwell was in this book as opposed to "Wolf Hall," and also a debate about whether or not Mantel was implying that Anne was guilty. I was particularly confused by the latter point because getting hung up on it implies that (1) judicial murder is okay if the lady gets around and (2) that Cromwell actually cares whether she's guilty. Both of which seem to miss the point of the book!
