Interesting; I have a thing for dark*, psychological procedurals with compelling protagonists; I loved Forbrydelsen -- well, most of it. Broadchurch worth watching for that, I take it.

That said, I tried Scott & Bailey, but while I loved the character concepts for each of them, the sexism inherent in the dynamics with men put me off the series. It wasn't just Rachel's relationship; it was also the way she acts around him: precisely the crazy, overly emotional woman, scorned and seething, bla bla bla. Generally I thought the writing wasn't very good -- the acting was much better than that, but that's a criticism I have for Luther as well, where the plot and dialogues make me wince, but oh my God, Idris Elba and Ruth Wilson...
