I need a dragon icon. Also, I have no excuse for putting two reviews that have nothing whatsoever to do with each other in the same post except I don't have the time to write two posts today due to Darth Real Life. First, Merlin, with the one guest starring <s>Gaius Baltar</s> James Callis:

( Aithusa )

I wish I could make a clever transition involving the Knights Who Say Ni, but I can't, so without further ado, on to the film involving Monty Python, Life of Brian and the 1979 reaction to same:

( Holy Flying Circus! )

comments

From New Zealand: Martin Freeman in costume as Bilbo. (With some dwarves and a certain wizard in the background.) I am just aglow in Middle Earth nostalgia.

So they are a film about the Life of Brian controversy now... and nobody mentions who plays George Harrison? (He did only finance the entire film.) Just kidding. Sounds like a good subject, though I imagine tricky for the actors playing the Monty Python ensemble, on account of the originals all being alive and well.

Hilarious x-men fanart featuring Raven and Charles. By the way, one of my favourite new canon details that I haven't mentioned in previous ramblings is ( something Mystique is now canonically responsible for )

Back when we did not have much, if any, canon on movieverse Mystique my favourite fanon about her was the one created by artaxastra in her great stories. And one detail there was that artaxastra's version of young Raven had a soft spot for James Bond films and imagined herself in them, so you can imagine how that detail made me smile in addition to be being cool by itself. Because in a film that is an origin story in so many ways, with Our Heroes all struggling to invent and reinvent themselves and creating each other, I get such a kick out of the fact Raven is the one ( who does something spoilery )

.

Lastly, found and copied on Tumblr: it is a law universally acknowledged that actors playing Charles and Erik must be hot by themselves and even hotter when with each other:

Mind you, if I had to choose, I'd still take the gorgeous septuganarians. (Sorry, James and Michael, but you're not quite there yet. You have youth, they have gravitas.) Luckily, I don't have to. :)

comments
