Links and bits

If you haven't already, check out Kathy's beautiful new icons. Lord of the Rings, Angel, Buffy, Highlander and Babylon 5. It's truly unfair that one's account is limited to 50.

Due to certain [livejournal.com profile] theatrical_muse related activities, I've been in a AtS frame of mind, and am currently rewatching season 4. And am concluding, not for the first time, that this is the overall best written season. Also my favourite one, which doesn't necessarily follow. My second favourite is season 2 and only loses out the top spot because of remaining Pylea irritation and Angel getting left of the hook for the lawyer buffet irritation. Least favourite shall always be season 3. Season 1 and 5 are about even in sympathy.

And speaking of the Jossverse, [livejournal.com profile] molly_may has a great new post about Restless. Ah, Restless. We shall never get tired of interpreting thee.

ahh, season 4. I do like most of it, and it's also one that gets more interesting with repeat viewings. I still vote for the first half of season 2 and the second half of season 5 adding up to one phenomenal season. Though, as has been most often observed, there is no consensus in this fandom, it seems to be close to a consensus that season 3 is the turkey. Of course, then JOSS comes and says it's his favorite. (But really? Joss? *eyeroll* What does HE know??? *evil grin*)

I think S2 of Angel remains my favorite, though I'm quite fond of S5 as well. I can't get past my Connor issues to embrace S4, though I find parts of it hugely entertaining. I do completely agree that S3 is the least satisfying or enjoyable.

Thanks for the pimp!:) I love that every time I watch "Restless" I can come away with a fresh perspective on the characters. It's such a fun episode to deconstruct.

you're welcome

Admittedly being fond of Connor helps with season 4 appreciation although [livejournal.com profile] masquerade who adores him loves season 3 best and dislikes a lot of season 4, so it's not a sine qua non. I love huge parts of season 2 (which also happens to feature my very favourite Jossverse character, Darla, a lot), but there is too much unevenness for me to like it the best, and I don't just mean Pylea. Whereas season 4 moves like a relentless tragedy, and you can see from Deep Down to Home how everything clicks into each other.

Thanks for the pimp *g*. Now I wonder what you're going to use that Darla icon for...

I'm drowning in a sea of TV shows to rewatch at the moment, but one day I would like to do an intensive rewatch of Angel Season 4 just to try and sort out the whys and wherefores of what happened to Cordelia. That's what I love about the Jossverse, it doesn't answer every question.

Bad girl *g*! I think you're as addicted to the role play as I am to the icons...

Alas, I suspect that may be the case...
