A Long Expected Party

Ah, the joys of packing. I want my own Vir, which reminds me: according to yesterday's survey, I'm mostly associated with Londo, with Darla as a close runner-up.. (Sudden thought: might this be why I cast Darla as Londo in my "what if JMS had written BTVS?" extravaganza?) At any rate, though they are admittedly by two favourite muses, they have been strangely disinterested in each other. Probably because Londo has a "been there, done that" attitude about beautiful dangerous women, and from Darla's pov is neither beautiful, nor darling, nor a boy.

Outsider associations were Bester, Joe Dawson (for not-Highlander fans: think Giles), whom both Londo and Darla would like, and Cassandra, who wouldn't have much use for either of them. My first online muse, and first case of championing an unpopular character through fanfic.

(Suddenly my perverse brain comes up with the following, only understandable if you've watched both Highlander and Babylon 5: "I killed. And I didn't just a hundred, G'Kar. I killed thousands. I killed tens of thousands. Is that what you wanted to hear?" Only in Londo's case the score would be considerable higher, thanks to modern weapons of mass destruction.)

I'm not sure what it says about me that the only one of these who isn't saddled with neuroses and dead bodies galore is Joe.

They'd make for an really interesting tea party, though.

Speaking of characters, and how to write them, [livejournal.com profile] fernwithy came up with this good analysis of what it means to write in character. Read. Agree. *g*

And so - clears throat in Bilbo'ish manner - I bid you all a very fond farewell.

Selena puts on a small golden ring and dissappears.

Hi there!

Please keep in mind that I hate to write obituaries, even those from a fannish point of view, and would be very annoyed if I would have to do that.

Btw: Brazil sound great ;-) Have fun!

the road goes ever on and on ... ;-)

My mind's gone to a rather strange place imagining a tea party involving Darla, Bester, Londo, Cassandra and Joe. My poor beloved Joe, he'd either barely make it out of there alive or have a great time watching the bitch fest. I feel that Darla and Cassandra would *not* get on, seeing that both have a taste for young, dark-haired Celts *g*.

That HL quote is delightfully appropriate.

Have a great time.

Well, if Joe survived, he would definitely have the most interesting entry for his chronicles....

Thanks.

Since I would much rather spend time writing fanfic than writing obituries, stay safe in Brazil *g*. Rest assured that Timov will get her bodyguards safely delivered while you're gone.

I'll try my best.*g* And will check Captain Crais' log as long as I have still net access...

I should apologise for filling your inbox with lj comments when you have no time to answer them, but it's nothing that can't wait *g*.

Good luck and have fun in Brazil!

I would try and make some weird connection between your situation and the movie Brazil but I've never seen it so this part of the comment is pretty pointless really.

Oh well. *sighs*
