I absolutely loved this premiere. It addressed all the things I was concerned about (giving Joan her own arc and also her own problems and even potential flaws that are not related to Sherlock) and added some genius things I hadn't considered (ie, Kitty; and both her scenes in this ep, and the show's generally respectful treatment of its supporting characters, gives me hope that she's not just there to fail and be replaced by Joan).c

And the way that they reunited was PERFECT and wonderfully in character.

I don't think the MI-6 thing is over (Sherlock is either still working for them or will have some unfinished business) but I'm glad it's backgrounded for now and we've still essentially got a consulting detectives show.
