More here isn't a heavyweight in the sense of being shown doing anything impressive.
That's why I think the assumption is that the average reader/viewer already has an idea of who these people are: from the moment Cromwell's Italian friend emerges to greet him and says "But Thomas More is here" it seems to be taken for granted that he needs no introduction.
