I know what you mean re: Dexter, especially given Michael C. Hall's previously best known role. Still, at least when they had Rita guess wrongly what Dexter's secret was, she went for drug addiction.

For further hilarity, here's the complete comment by fanboy Bluefalcon90: "The reason I am taken back is because this is actually the main character and to make him gay out of no where is a bit unnecessary. If Walter White or Dexter turned out to be gay half way through season two people would have been like WTF!? as well."
