Black Sails Season 3 Trailer!
Oct. 1st, 2015 08:24 pmWhich is somewhat spoilerly for previous seasons, so
likeadeuce, don't watch.
New characters: Rogers "the new governor of Nassau" (intended), who as opposed to other new character Blackbeard gets the actual lines in the trailer and, based on trailer alone, looks like he won't be the latest version of the evil English sadist governor (see both Pirates of the Caribean and Crossbones) - "if you cast me as the villain, I'll play the part" is something most characters on the show could say for themselves. (Other than Mr. Scott and Billy Bones.) Negotiating with Eleanor and trying to win her over to understand Nassau is a smart move at any rate, and Eleanor is too good a survivalist to respond with a "I'll die first!" approach as long as she's still a prisoner. As I expected, looks like she'll be the pov character among the advancing British forces.
"My island": yep, having lost both Thomas and Miranda now, Flint is in "I'll try the last" Macbeth mode.
What did you do, Jack? Max and I both want to know. At a guess, he probably surrendered the gold or at least most of it to either Vane or Flint or both. (Let's face it, how are Jack and his crew supposed to defend it against either of these two, let alone both combined?)
Um. Losing his leg apparantly made John Silver try a different hair style as well, and grow a beard. It makes him look suitably darker for this point of his life, but let's recall that by the time he goes to Bristol to settle down in an inn for a few years, he's back to faking harmlessness, show, in looks, too. This being said, I absolutely got the chills at the end when you hear the sound of the one legged man before you see the stomp. (And whom did you kill there, John? I couldn't make out.) Black Sails mostly works as its own beast, but the end of the trailer really is a treat for Treasure Island readers/listeners/viewers.
