Another interesting piece! I was intrigued by the first part of the story and its own take on what Dooku was like through his Jedi career: I suppose I can connect the "there's room for multiple interpretations" aspect about him with thoughts there must surely be people who look back fondly to the days when they could imagine "what made Darth Vader" themselves. (While I can understand that, though, for my own part having an official story does help give motivation to how his story ends in Return of the Jedi, removing any risk of it seeming "sudden and arbitrary.")
I haven't quite yet got around to watching the new "Rebels" series that followed Clone Wars, so I don't know if the broad strokes of the final encounter in your story's last section are taken from what I do know has been happening in it; it was also a nicely developed idea in any case.
