There are actually eight of them now (with a ninth due out in December). Her historical detail is just fantastic. I discovered them this spring at the library and devoured all of them. I haven't talked about them on LJ/DW yet because I haven't quite figured out how to talk about them given that they are such an odd mix of things I'm completely loving (the historical detail, the characters) and things fandom hates (the virulently homophobic King James subplot in the third book, for one). I ought to try to do little mini-recs for each of the things I'm requesting for Yuletide - I really like it when other people do that - and that'd be a good opportunity, I guess.
