Of course, John is wrong about everything in this episode - he will get back to Earth, he will have kids, and he has already had sex with Chiana (although he didn't remember it as such).
I said it when I first watched this episode, and I'll say it again - the scene where Crais runs off with Talyn is, emotionally, totally a Doctor/Master "so, you're not evil any more and you'll stay with me?"/"LIKE HELL! BWA HA HA HA HA" scene.
I also like, on this viewing, the scene between D'Argo and Aeryn, where he says, expecting to die, that he'd expected to live longer than this and she says that she didn't expect to live so long. D'Argo may come from a culture that idealises the warrior virtues, but he is much more complex than the pure Proud Warrior Race Guy.
Also like John's response to Rygel's attempt to justify himself that he does usually, eventually, do the right thing with (paraphrasing) "doing the right thing should start as soon as you get up in the morning".
