It does at that! My nitpickings don't mean I didn't enjoy it, or that I don't think it's a good introduction to the era. I just wish he'd been a bit more thorough in his research. (I.e. stuff like ascribing a motive to Roxelane she can't have had yet if the supposed-son-in-law wasn't yet her son-in-law by the time she supposedly murdered his rival for him, and wouldn't be for a few more years, or the fate of Henry's corpse.) (The later is really relatively easy to ascertain and was even before the internet.)
