The main image that shocked me, the first time I saw it, was the Francis-Bacon-esque tableau of Donny’s corpse, blue velvet fabric stuffed in his mouth, and the Yellow Man, still alive but a brain-damaged zombie standing in Dorothy’s living room next to the busted tv set.
