Oh, the Expanse is great! I didn't fell in love with until season 3 though, but now, after the end of the series I find in immensely satisfying.

And there were so many great characters still to come!

I think Chrisjen Avasarala, Bobby and Amos are my favorites, along with another character who'll appear later.

Unrelenting optimism of Holden did grate on my nerves occasionally, but it was acknowledged in universe that others also find him annoying often and he is far from always right.
