Isn‘t it beautiful! I did notice the distinct lack of women on public monuments in general, yes, and can well believe Philippa was the only one on that one. Last year I heard a lecture on how the female exiles - who wen temporarily stuck in Lisbon waiting for a chance to escape did not change their mode of behaviour but continued to wear trousers and swim in the sea in public, to name the most objected to habits - not just caused a furore but inadvertendly helped the local women‘s movement (which did exist under very oppressivce conditions).
