That is true, though I will say that if they recast Adar, why not Bronwyn?
Honestly? I suspect it's because they know there are people like me who absolutely hate recasting and probably would have dropped the show.
My brain can grudgingly handle it for a character like Adar who has enough makeup/prosthetics to hide some distinguishing features, but for a character who's just a character? My brain immediately goes "that's not the same character, fuck this show, they think their viewers can't tell the difference" and nopes out. I've had to stop watching so many shows and movie series over the years because of recastings, so I honestly much prefer that they kill characters off than recast.
