Return of the January Meme

Pick a date below and give me a topic, and I'll ramble on. I'm good at talking. It can be anything from fandom-related (specific characters, actors, storylines, episodes, which Disney Marvel shows are my faves and why, why the world should give the Julian-Claudians a rest and make a Flavius Josephus/Josef Ben Matthias centric show set in the Flavian era instead, which 18th century ladies need their own series, etc.) to life-related to favorite tea brands to whatever you want.

They will probably be brief, or not, depending on the subject. Also, I reserve the right to decline prompts that I don't feel equipped to meet.

Topics: you can get an idea from my tags/from the stuff I usually ramble about/from things you maybe wish I talked about more but don't. Also, please feel free to check out the 2024 meme,  the 2023 January meme, the2022 January meme, the 2021 January Meme, the January Meme: 2020 Edition, the 2019 one, the 2018 meme, the 2017 edition , and the 2016 January meme to see which topics I've written about in past years.

My birthday is the 4th so I'm picking that, and my requested topic is: you have a huge budget and can make a TV show about any historical figure from any place or era. Who do you choose?

January 11th: Since Cavendish and I have recently finished binging For All Mankind, a show in which astronaut Danielle Poole outs herself as a major Star Trek fan: In which aspects would you expect a FAM universe version of Star Trek most likely to differ from ours?

Other than, can you thank the questioner for 2nd Jan for explaining to me why they've gone RDJ Doom when I can think of roughly 58 actors better for the role, for your choice of date, how would you feel about a Roman AU for Babylon 5? (I quite like the idea of circa fall of the Republic but ...)

...okay, now that you have said this, I DO want to know all about why the world should give the Julian-Claudians a rest and make a Flavius Josephus/Josef Ben Matthias centric show set in the Flavian era instead -- well, to be honest and as you know, I probably know more about why one should make a Josephus show (the characters! The incredible plot twists!) than anything about the Julian-Claudians as a foil, so I'm interested in how you'd compare the two... but really what I want to know is, what would the seasons look like, what would their reception be -- who would be the fan favorites and what would enrage fandom? :)

Jan 21!

This is very late, but I am looking at going to Berlin for a week with a friend in May. 12th January: What are the historical sites you recommend visiting for those who want to avoid 20th Century History?
