As always in recent years, I'll do this meme in January. I've always enjoyed doing it, and look forward to your prompts, old and new friends.

Pick a date below and give me a topic, and I'll ramble on. I'm good at talking. It can be anything from fandom-related (specific characters, actors, storylines, episodes, why the world should give the Julian-Claudians a rest and make a Flavius Josephus/Josef Ben Matthias centric show set in the Flavian era instead, which Byzantine Empress needs her own series, etc.) to life-related to favorite tea brands to whatever you want.

They will probably be brief, or not, depending on the subject. Also, I reserve the right to decline prompts that I don't feel equipped to meet.

Topics: you can get an idea from my tags/from the stuff I usually ramble about/from things you maybe wish I talked about more but don't. Also, please feel free to check out the 2023 January meme, the2022 January meme, the 2021 January Meme, the January Meme: 2020 Edition, the 2019 one, the 2018 meme, the 2017 edition , and the 2016 January meme to see which topics I've written about in past years.

Anything more scholarly than The Daughter of Time you would recommend to a non-specialist who leans Ricardian but doesn't have a good enough grasp on the sources to go around asserting pro-Ricardian views to others?

I recently started watching For All Mankind in part due to your reviews for the show! I'd be interested in hearing more of your thoughts - maybe on a topic such as mentorship, or non-romantic relationships? Or just talk about one of the characters or relationships you find interesting!

How about January 14 and recent developments in Beatledom? Did you have opinions on Now and Then? Also, I have the impression that Get Back has significantly shifted the narrative on the band's history, so I'd love to know your thoughts on that. Thank you!

I was listening to a podcast (You’re Dead to Me) where a comedian quipped that Peter III of Russia and Frederick the Great would have both been quite satisfied with a kingdom swap, since Peter admired Prussia so much and Frederick would not have said no to such a giant hunk of Empire.

Whether or not that is true, what do you think would be some of the best and worst kingdom swaps from your favourite periods? Whose style of governance was much better suited to another kingdom’s problems? Who managed where they were ruling but would have floundered when forced to deal with someone else’s political brew.

26th Jan please, since it is my birthday!
