In which Boyd and Miles share Benjamin Sisko duties - or is one of them Dax?

Not a criticism, just an observation: the hostage situation unfolding in the latest FaM -Episode, which I hadn't had the time to review until now, does share more than one resemblance to DS9's two parter Past Tense, including the hot headed guy initially who leads the initial rush being without any type of plan, a more heroic, reasonable person deciding to join Team Revolution in order to keep things from escalating violently, the fact that the reason for the uprising is a just one but the staff taken hostage are largely sympathetic office workers, and there is even a billionaire around who tries to interfere in a positive manner in the DS9 episode due to liking one of the main cast. It says something about the decline in Techbro Billionaire reputation that in the FoM case, Dev's attempt to reach Alex ends up not in his siuccessful help but in him getting beaten up by strangers, upon which he returns to his safe headquarters.

I must admit they really are on a good track to making my Miles dislike from last season disappear; his behaviour in this episode was just the right side of good, not suddenly spectaccularly heroic or demanding something he would have no skill for, but a good display of reasonableness and knowledge of the people he's dealing with, and his team up with the other person sworn to reasonablness and not letting things escalate into a bloody free for all, Boyd, further helps his case. Boyd ensuring that her less than trustworthy fellow peacekeepers don't get all the hidden weapons but also not ready to hand them over to the hotheaded Gerardo makes sense, and for now, I keep hoping between the two of them, they'll manage to prevent a massacre.

The third person displaying courage, empathy and steel at the same time and sharing Sisko duties in this tale is Aleida, who not only shows up to look after her kidnapped ops crew but manages to talk the hostage takers into letting most of them do their jobs as to restore contact to Sojourner and keep the Mars station going. If you remember how a teenage Aleida behaved in a very teenagery self destructive way back in s1: she's come an incredible way, and yet we've seen her mature into this courageous and clever lady.

Meanwhile, Earth calls the Marsians "no Iridium without Representation" bluff with a counter "no more supplies for you at all without complete surrender" demand. I guess that means the ISN people to the rescue, starring as the French in this impending War of Independence.?
