Alas, I fear Troi still would have had to deal with possession plots, though, not least they were such a trope for (female) telepaths (see also poor Cally), and a greater advance in gender equality would not have been enough to fix that part. Othrwise, yes, agreed.

Q: probably with less invasion of body space than Jean-Luc got, because with a man and a woman, that comes across way more threatening than teasing. But Q/Picard in fandom still would have happened, I bet! I do suspect Q wouldn't dump Jeanne-Lucienne into a Robin Hood scenario with male!Vash, he'd have gone for a noir detective pastiche instead (with her as the detective and Vash as the shady flirtatious suspect), or maybe he'd have made her Joan of Arc (who in this version does not end up on the stake but rescues herself along with the Enterprise Crew) to tease her. Which would also have been fun, but would rob us of Worf's immortal "I am not a Merry Man!" line.
