These are from Switzerland, the countryside of the German-speaking part




Snow at the end of May. Also, the brave vehicle who made it all the way to the Cote d'Azure and back.



The Via Mala. That's the Rhine there cutting its way through the rocks, folks.

Wow! Spectacular pictures. Takes me back to my very long ago trip through the mountains from Switzerland to Italy. I really like the pictures of the houses: they look so organic, part of the landscape.

Supposedly, it keeps the mice from making their way into the house via the four columns the later is rested on. Remember, it never touches the ground directly.

Saas Fee... this takes me right back to when I was 8 or 9 years old and spent the summer there with my two aunts and grandmother. I was OBSESSED with marmottes (that is the right word for Murmeltiere, no?) at the time and we went to see them every day. Stunning pictures!!

I didn't get too many pictures of the Louisana country side because it was crazy hot that day and it was more fun to keep the wind moving through the car and because I'm afraid of stopping my car on bridges and that is where some of the prettiest pictures would have been. But I took *lots* of pictures in New Orleans. All told on vacation I took 23 rolls of film. I'll (hopefully) get them printed this week and scanned in and a few posted next week.

Those are lovely. Do you ever have a hard time believing that such picturesque things are real? I get that sometimes--I'll be looking at some bit of nature or human endeavor and think "Oh, come on world, you're making this up."
