I come bearing links. Politics first. Maureen Dowd of the NY Times writes Dick Cheney/Saudi Government fanfic
Sort of. [livejournal.com profile] rozk has some smart things to say and wishes some role-playing skills on George W. Bush here..

Faith, as we all know, is like black (not Sirius) - she works with everyone. (Well, except the Mayor. Given their father/daughter relationship, I find the idea of Faith/Mayor unpalatable.) But not everyone can write her. So I was delighted to read three different combinations, all handled plausibly and with insight into the characters. [livejournal.com profile] thran gives us that rarety, a story concentrating on Faith and Wood . Not a popular fanfic pairing, but I thought they were adorable in their "who's prettiest?" scene in Chosen, and working out their Slayer issues together in Buffy's bed made kinky sense in Touched. [livejournal.com profile] thran writes with sympathy for both.
Next, we have another rarety: Faith/Connor (sort of). I was hooked from the sentence "He reminds her of Buffy" onwards. (Because I used that comparison myself in my Darla and Connor story.) Let me have no impediment for the union of true messed up souls.
Of course, my favourite Faith pairing will always be Faith/Buffy. Those last season 7 episodes, and Buffy equating her relationship with Spike to her relationship with Faith, give us some new canon to work with, and [livejournal.com profile] pandarus does so, beautifully.

[livejournal.com profile] pandarus also wrote the first OotP-informed Snape/Lily. Apart from [livejournal.com profile] lizbee and Earthwalk, I've seen few people who can pull off this particular pairing without sentimentalizing Severus Snape, but [livejournal.com profile] pandarus succeeds with flying colours, and her Lily simply rocks.

Mariner, aka [livejournal.com profile] marinarusalka, one of the best Harry Potter fanfic writers, has committed filk. Be sure not to drink anything while you read her musical version of that handshake Dumbledore forced Sirius and Snape to do in GoF, here. Just as dangerous to your computer screen is her Snape solo I am the Very Model of an Anti-Hero Archetype.
And one last HP link: first snap shot of Gary Oldman as Sirius in the third HP movie here. Also starring Rupert Grint and Alan Rickman (the later sans make-up, so not in character as Snape).

If you've recovered from that one and share with me a fondness for the Star Wars prequels, you might understand that I, an admirer of vids, was quite frustrated none of those talented vidders whose work I admire, likes them and hence is likely to use them as material. (Though [livejournal.com profile] astolat did a fabulous Luke-and-Leia centric vid, "Kid Fears", which uses a few TPM images as well.) So imagine my delight when [livejournal.com profile] cadesama found me some prequel vids
here. My profound SW thought for the day: Anakin complex, Hayden pretty. So there.

Thanks for these!

Very fond of links. Curiosity. Good reads. Not to mention the time saving aspect!

*snicker*

I actually wrote Faith/Sirius (http://www.unfitforsociety.net/musesfool/inshadow.htm).

She is *such* a little black dress of fandom.

Hey! Miss Selena! Read this!

Excellent story! A tad Jossed (or Rowlinged) in the Sirius way, but very much in-character for both Faith and Sirius. Good job!

TLC took the Sirius Black picture offline. Did you happen to save a copy?... I'd like to see it.

Thanks!

Yeah, I'm (more than) a little upset about what That Woman did to Sirius, but I still like the story. *g*

Which is good, since...

... I did not. I was about to apologize, especially since you indulged me in my Anakin curiosity.

I do wonder: will that unglamorized look deter any Sirius fangirls or attract new ones? (g)

To Musesfool, she was always THAT woman.
(Sorry, saw a Sherlock Holmes vid today and was inspired.)

Anyway: good story, I agree, and I could see those two together (albeit briefly as in your tale - far too many self-destructive tendencies combined for anything long term).

Yay! I got linked! :) ::SMOOCH::

Thanks for non-Faith links, too. I'm looking forward to reading them . . . once I'm caught up on the Faithficathon.
