Dec. 20th, 2003 03:58 pmDid the sensible thing to soothe my post-RotK woes and put my FotR Extended Edition in. Which on the other hand is not so sensible since I'm at my parents' for Christmas, and I don't know how long they'll put up with my fetish (neither of them is exactly a genre fan, let alone a Tolkien OR Jackson one). Plus rewatching Frodo cheerful, enjoying his life, Sam shy, Merry and Pippin having fun is heartbreaking. And I've not even seen more than twenty minutes of the first movie.

butterfly, she who writes great and insightful entries on all Jossverse things, gives us this, that, and also this. Let me just say I'm so with her regarding her annoyance with the "true hero" label. LotR is not a "one hero only" kind of story, and features various very different kinds of heroism.
On a lighter note: It had to happen, given the Path of the Dead, the Corsairs and Orlando Bloom. "The Very Secret Diary of Captain Jack Sparrow", a RotK/Pirates of the Carribean crossover.
(And of course Jack is the prettiest. Never got the Legolust anyway.)
