New fanfic, not so new conclusions

thefiringline - a new Babylon 5 community - has issued another challenge, episode-based short fanfic, with Midnight on the Firing Line being the episode in question, and this in turn reminded me that it's here we see the first interactions between Londo and Vir, so...

You know, I've got my share of good-looking characters which I like, so I certainly can't claim immunity to the attractions of the pretty, when it's united with the interesting. (Case in point: the Jossverse, but then it's really hard to find plain or bad-looking people in a show produced and written by Joss Whedon.) But in Sci-Fi? (The late, lamented Firefly excepted, for it was produced by the Evil One.) Zilch interest in: Kirk, Marcus Cole, Chakotay. Limited interest in: Sheridan, Aeryn Sun (let me qualify this: season 4 Aeryn), Ivanova (or rather, I like her very much on the actual show, but there is only so much Susan/Talia one can take, and I/M has the disadvantage of Mr. Cole - surprisingly, there is little 'shipper-free Ivanova fic; somebody should issue a challenge about a story starring her and Bester in which neither kills or tortures the other). But the guys I can't get enough of? Londo, Vir, G'Kar, Quark, oh, and Rygel. Who have charisma and emotional intensity a plenty, and/or wit and bite, beating normal human prettiness any day.
I suppose the attraction to Gollum wasn't that surprising after all.*g*
