Date: 2006-06-30 04:31 pm (UTC)Have you ever read The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time (http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/0099450259/202-8447196-2172625?v=glance&n=266239) by Mark Haddon? It's from the point of view of an autistic boy. Connor's voice here makes me think of it.
Connor thinks in a way that's very similar in some ways to the way that Christopher (the autistic protagonist and narrator of The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time) thinks. But that makes so much sense: Connor IS kind of autistic, not by nature but by nurture. His experiences have given him so little ability to understand the nuances of human behavior and emotions.
I love your portrayal of Fred and Gunn, too.
