Whilst my parents are making noises about me spending time at the computer does not square with being a good host to our visitors - they're right, of course - I give you more links, as shezan continued her Bamberg picspam, and I do adore my hometown:

The saga of the Botero statue she alludes to in one of the posts in short: the main sponsor who enabled the city to buy the lady in question insisted it should be displayed in the backyard place where he lives. The owners of the local antique shops weren't the only ones who thought this was a bad idea, but they were the ones who get permission for the statue to be displayed on a platform in the middle of the river in front of our old city hall instead, during the duration of their festival last year. Where the statue floated for about one hour, then sank. So it's back in the backyard, alas.

Thanks for the linkage! and depending on how computer-phobic your parents are, show them the posts, perhaps? As evidence that visitors actually remember what they saw?

My parents aren't computer-phobic, but if they see your lj, they'll see mine as well, and I'd rather they wouldn't. As I would have to go to the bother of renaming it and/or lock entries otherwise - fannish life and parents should be kept seperate!

However, I did show them some of the pics by virtue of downloading and said you sent them.*g*
