“G’Kar, you appear to be in particular excellent health today. Whatever it is you are doing, keep it up!” (Said to G’Kar in the episode Soul Mates)
“Madman!” (Well, G’Kar seemed to take it as a compliment when Londo said it, i.e. when they were both locked in an elevator.)
“You are positively the last person I’ll ever want to see.” (Statement of fact when it comes to Londo and G’Kar, of course, but he was in a good mood when he said it and did mean to compliment G’Kar in a teasing kind of way.)
“Regardless of the opinion your worshippers profess, you are far too interestingly irritating to be a saint.” (Said after G’Kar sought refuge from the idolators by challenging Londo to a game of chance – and winning.)
“Because I might have been Refa if you had not existed.” (The explanation he gave G’Kar as to why he cleared the late Antono Refa of the charge of treason when Emperor. He could have said “because that gives Senna an unblemished House to be descended from, and I’m fond of her”, but he felt like hugging the Narn, which was of course unthinkable, given the Keeper.
Five presents Londo never made G’Kar, forkangeiko
1) The Centauri Kama Sutra, which is called Sighs of Li and was written by Divo Osusian. Get your minds out of the gutter, he meant to give it to G’Kar as a hint that he knew all about the affair with Mariel, complete with some sarcastic remark about Mariel being a demanding woman and G’Kar needing all the help he could get, but then he realized that was just begging for a rejoiner of G’Kar’s that as opposed to Londo, he never needed instructions, so Londo ended up giving Sighs of Li to Vir instead. Vir blushed about it for a week, but he read every verse.
2) Another G’Quan Eth. This was meant as a present of reconciliation post- Cartagia. However, given how few G’Quan Eths were still growing on Narn after the use of mass drivers, he thought better of it.
3) A complete hygenie set, bath foam, oils, perfume and all. Naturally, this wasn’t for sentimental reasons but because once G’Kar had become his bodyguard, he had to endure the strong body odour on a nightly basis. (That was G’Kar’s idea, remember – he didn’t want to leave Londo alone even in his bedroom, it’s canon!) Unfortunately, the merchant ordered to send said set addressed it to Timov by mistake, and it would have taken a braver man than Londo was to tell her whom it had been intended for.
4) A crystal with the recording of the Earth minstrels Simon and G’Arfunkle singing “I am a rock”. Londo when hearing this song one day at the casino thought it was written for G’Kar when in meditative mood, and fitting for the Narn in general anyway. But on the way to G’Kar’s quarters, crystal in hand, he met the Drazi Ambassador, started an argument, and ended up throwing the crystal against the wall. And that was that.
5) A journey to Minbar on a luxury cruiser. Neither of them had actually ever been there, though Vir kept saying with a meaningful look that Londo would benefit from it to no end. So Londo during his last year on Babylon 5 started to joke that if this was true for him, it had to be true for G’Kar as well and he’d better take him along. Then he thought: “why not?” He wanted to make the trip as a kind of shared vacation as soon as things were normal again, but instead things on Centauri Prime went to hell in a handbasket, and then, you know... But he had already bought the tickets, and kept them for the rest of his life.
Five things Vir never told Londo, forcallmesandy
1) How close he was to not just quitting but revealing Londo’s secrets to all and sunder after the events of And the rock cried out, no hiding place. He was that hurt.
2) That he figured out Londo was the one who had sent the presents supposedly from Vir’s family on Vir’s Ascension Day in no time flat. They just wouldn’t, not even with Vir in a position of some power, and Londo so would.
3) That Timov made him send her regular reports on Londo after Soul Mates. Or any of her disdainful comments which were usually to the point. Or the fact she kept asking for more reports.
4) Book canon: that the technomages told him about the Keeper. Both because the Keeper was listening and because Vir got angry each time he thought about the technomages knowing and not doing anything about it for years. Getting angry was a dangerous distraction in any conversation with Londo after his coronation because of the Drakh, so, no mention of that.
5) “I love you.” Because Londo knew that anyway.
Five things Morden does not want, foreye_of_a_cat
1) His old life back. No matter what he might claim to the contrary when in the right mood. He likes being the Shadows’ emissary much better than he ever did life as an archaelogist (plus there he was bested by that annoying Max Eilerson all the time anyway), and he’s completely convinced by their cause.
2) Which is why he doesn’t want the Shadows to win a total victory, either. There’d be no seeds for future conflict if the opposition gets completely crushed. Also, they wouldn’t need him anymore.
3) Ending up like Anna, as cannon fodder or a living organ bank, no matter how you look at it. Which is another reason why he accepted the Shadows’ original offer. Sometimes, he wonders whether they’d go back on their word and use him in one of their vessels anyway if he stops being useful. They wouldn’t. Would they?
4) Deceased!Morden: for Londo to die. Londo is supposed to pay for what he did to Morden by a long miserable life, as long as posssible. In addition to the death and the preceding unpleasantness, the idea that Londo got the better of him and made him lose his cool in a way that even getting nuked on Z’ha’dum had not managed to rankles even in the hereafter.
5) Deceased!Morden: for Lennier to die. Because Lennier was much fun to torment on the Day of the Dead, and really, someone has to add some spice into the treacly sweet idyll of Sheridan and Delenn now Anna is gone.
