...and another Torchwood thought
Oct. 25th, 2006 05:47 pmToday's hotel, near the place where three Roman legious were wiped out by Arminius the Cheruscan & friends, has at least one public computer for all, so, something which occured to me too late to add to the earlier entry, concerning everyone's favourite omnisexual conman and now team leader, Captain Jack Harkness.
If you think about, Jack, not the late Suzie, is the team member who got most people killed so far. Because Jack let Possessed!Carys escape just because he didn't want to lose the Doctor's hand. Which is creepy and touching and promising and whatnot in regards to Jack's emotional make-up, but if you think about it, it's incredibly irresponsible and makes him at the very least aide to manslaughter. He knew what was at stake, he had seen Carys/the alien kill. There was no doubt she'd do it again if they let her escape. Carys herself had pleaded for help with Gwen. And he risked her going on a serial killer rampage anyway. Which adds every single man who died at the sperm donor's clinic to his personal body count.
Yet the one who feels guilty about the entire situation? Is Gwen. Not that I don't appreciate Gwen acting responsibly, but her part in this was an accident. Jack's was a deliberate action.
