The hotel does have an online connection, but it's dial-up. So, not much online presence by yours truly until next Sunday. But the important thing is the incredible amount of slopes available here; seriously, this is the hugest area for mountain skiing I've ever had the pleasure to ski in, and I'm something of an old hand. And all the slopes are covered with snow. After two months spent mostly locked up in rooms and working, this is just what I need.

...err, the area in question would be Corvara, in the Dolomites. So, second time in a few weeks I'm in Italy. Viva!

...also, if anything important happens during the week, pray add a link in a comment here!

First, I saw "Lives of Others" today, and I probably won't post a review, but I thought it was a great movie. Thanks for the recommendation!

Also, as for important happenings. *cough* this doesn't directly affect you but it's too fun not to share (http://community.livejournal.com/theatrical_fen/1163254.html).

Not really of any importance, but I posted a short PotC ficlet that isn't my usual Norrington fangirling, but rather a piece about Will Turner and Governor Swann dealing with the aftermath of the Dauntless catastrophe (http://bimo.livejournal.com/29185.html)

So good to read you are at a place with such marvelous skiing conditions! Based on your e-mail I'd say you really deserve it :-)

Have fun and come back with all your bones and inner organs intact!

Btw: [livejournal.com profile] cavendish spent the last week in Austria, supervising about 100 students who went on a skiing class trip. Very little snow, plus the poor guy isn't exactly cut out for this kind of sport *g*

Am in the process of packing suitcases for tomorrow's trip back to Germany, but: that's a lovely ficlet, the grief for the Dauntless comes across intently, as do Swann's regrets for Norrington. And Will, poor guy, being decent but finding it impossible to say something.

100 students? *winces in sympathy*

Between packing suitcases for tomorrow's trip back: yay! Am thrilled to hear you liked it.

Secondly, this is so going to be my favourite soap opera. You know, I had considered, via Harry being part of the movie marvelverse, of volunteering Connor and Kara for a body switch thing (as Kara is so convinced Connor has the perfect life she wanted), but Kara might find it hard to recover afterwards, so better not...

Glad to read that Will comes across as likeable! I always think of him as someone who not only has his heart in the right place, but is also quite smart in a 'very high practical and emotional intelligence' kind of way. It's not only his apparent lack of formal education which prevents him from replying anything to Swann's accusation, but also an instinctive understanding that anything he could possibly say would only lead up to additional harm.

Thank you so much for the feedback :-)

Well, they really were of the nicer kind, and Cavendish was only one of the about ten teachers keeping an eye on them during that trip. But nevertheless, when I watched these kids boarding their buses, I thought I'd go utterly insane if I had to spend more than an hour in their company *g*
