Fanfic recs (Alias and Torchwood)

The Easter holidays do of course see me in Bamberg, with the Aged Parents and assorted other family members. Which means little lj time. However, I come bearing recs anyway.
Firstly, Alias:
yahtzee63 has finished her superb ten-parts magnum opus, Evergreen, which manages to use a lot of the things about season 5 I have issues with and to spin them in a superb, character-sense-making direction, comes up with an ending that does justice to everyone without going in denial about what the show did saddle them with.... and manages to present a very hot love story with its central pairing to boot. Go and check out her lj for all ten parts at once!
Secondly, Torchwood. You know, there is an old theory about the fact that shows that are heavily flawed usually manage to produce more fanfiction than shows which are carefully constructed and for the most part manage to do all their characters on screen justice (see also: Babylon 5, fanfiction state of same). Torchwood had a very hit and miss first season, and definitely has, err, plenty room for improvement, but all the same, there is potential there, and some of the characters are intriguing. Snowdon visits a very popular fanfic theme - how the characters deal not just with the cliffhanger ending but all the preceding events - and focuses on the two most diametrically opposite, Owen and Ianto. It's the kind of excellent characterisation and well written dialogue I hope to see on the show proper next season, let me tell you that.
