Watchmen: a first glimpse

After spending most of the day on the road, I just received this from a friend. Films based on Alan Moore have been mostly unlucky (with the arguable exception of V for Vendetta), but this seems to indicate they don't try to "update" it, and it definitely looks right:

Who watches the Watchmen? A first look at the film. Colour me cautiously optimistic!

Man, I am so psyched for this movie. It sounds like Zack Snyder is actually, y'know, a real genuine fan of the comic (le gasp), and his casting is just so weirdly brilliant (Jeffrey Dean Morgan for the win), and...okay, I just hit up IMDB to check what the rest of the cast was, and I came across this (http://www.imdb.com/gallery/ss/0409459/watch1317.jpg.html), and basically my excitement has just gone up tenfold because that is perfect. It's like seeing an actual panel. Oh, Alan, you may get a good one yet...
